Can MTV Return to the Glory Days of Music Videos? | PopEater.com See this is something I use to ask about. I didn’t have cable back in the day when MTV and VH1 were all about the music I had to get to a friends house just to watch and it was completely worth it. If today’s MTV and VH1 were are then I wouldn’t have even bothered. Reality tv has taken over everything. I don’t mind a game show here and there but reality is a pain in the butt why do I want to watch it on tv too. I always thought TV/Movies were to take you out of reality ( unless it was a documentary ) and into another mindset for a short time.
